Subject: Incident Report of Fire at Cooling Tower 14 on the roof of the Tongtian Building
I Occurrence
I.1 Date: 23 April 20－
I.2 Time: 06:30 a.m.
I.3 Location: Roof, Level 18， Tongtian Building, Shenzhen
I.4 Description:
One of the cooling towers (cooling tower 14), situated on the roof of the Tongti an Building, was found completely burnt at its wooden topping and part of its up per casing. There was no evidence of how this fire had been caused, or of who wa s responsible. A report was made to the Police and Insurance company, but the ca use has yet to be identified.
ⅡImmediate action taken
The incident was at once reported to the Police, Fire Services Department and th e insurance company. Photographs were taken and eye witness accounts were record ed.
An ad hoc meeting was held with our maintenance contractor to arrange for remedi al work to be carried out and for the removal of the burnt remains. Minutes of t his meeting are enclosed in Appendix 1. There was no interruption to normal air- conditioning supply and operation.
Steps were elaborated with HVC (4) to ensure tougher control over the security g uards and roof patrols. It was decided to add patrol points around the building perimeter and dead comers on the roof.
Ⅲ Findings
In general, the Tongtian Building does not need operation of water-cooled
